Joyce
 Joyce
is the founder and owner of The Purple School. Education and children are two
of her greatest passions. She has been teaching since she was 16 and began
tutoring younger kids. She has taught in multiple countries (the U.S.,
Taiwan, and Japan) and for multiple institutions, including a Harvard ESL
program, a University of Washington/Washington Women Lawyers program, a
Bellevue Community College legal clinic, and a Japanese preschool. Joyce's
teaching philosophy is that children are eager to learn and virtually all
children can learn multiple languages. Recognizing that children learn best
when they are motivated and having fun, she uses many different methods of
learning and teaching, including visual, auditory, and movement. Joyce is a
graduate of Harvard University and New York University School of Law. She
is a past recipient of the "40
under 40" award from the Puget Sound Business Journal.
